In San Martin de los Andes Area
San Martin de los
andes is located on the southeast of Neuquén province, at 640
m.s.n.m and surrounded by forests and lakes. It has 28.000
inhabitants in town and throughout its surrounding area.
San Martin offers
the possibility of practicing fly fishing. There are three different
fishing modalities that can be distinguished: Trolling, Spinning and
Fly fishing.
Trolling and
spinning take place in Lolog, Nonthue, Villarino, Hermoso and
Falkner lakes while fly fishing can be practice in Alumine, Collon
Cura and Chimehuin rivers. On the lakes, it can be practice from the
shore or from the boat and on the rivers, there are two alternatives:
one is wading, which take place in Malleo, Meliquina, Caleufu and
Chimehuin rivers; the other is navigation on rowing boats.
Other possibility
is doing a float trip with camping in two or three days fishing
parts of the river with out access.

Programs
Aluminé and Pilo lil
Area: 150 km from San Martín to the north. This area is especial for
waiding rivers. The program include: Transfer from San Martín to
Aluminé, lodging in Hotel with breakfast and all the meals, fishing
guide. The best months for fishing in this area are February, March
and April.
Limay Medio: In
Piedra del Aguila city, 200 km far from San Martín. This place is
the best for catch big trouts. The river is long and wide too
different of the others. The program include: Transfer to Piedra
del Aguila, lodging in hotel, all the meals, fishing guide and raft
boats. Is possible fish there all the fishing season.
